Our leading law firm client is recruiting for a proactive and detail-oriented Legal Cashier for a 12-month fixed-term contract within their Finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly regarded law firm known for its collaborative culture and high-quality client service, supporting the smooth running of financial operations during a key period of system transition.

Responsibilities:

Handling both domestic and international payment processes using the firms finance systems (currently PMS, moving to 3E), often to tight deadlines. Monitoring a suspense account linked to property-related transactions and ensuring accurate internal recharge. Managing a shared finance inbox, responding promptly and professionally to internal queries and requests. Keeping track of funds received from clients and matching them to relevant internal records. Posting client receipts and reconciling them against outstanding invoices. Arranging transfers between client and office accounts to settle invoices in line with regulatory requirements. Offering support and guidance to colleagues across the firm on finance-related matters. Maintaining regular communication with banking partners to ensure smooth operations. Managing short-term investments of client funds in line with internal processes. Calculating interest owed to clients where appropriate. Updating daily logs of balances held in client accounts. Assisting teammates by stepping in to provide cover when needed.

Ideal Background & Skills:

Previous experience working in a finance or cashiering capacity within a legal setting. Solid understanding of the regulatory framework that governs legal financial practices in England & Wales. Confident in handling technical aspects of law firm accounting. Clear and effective communicator, able to work with stakeholders at all levels. Stays calm and focused under pressure, especially during peak times. Adaptable and willing to flex to support the teams and firms changing needs. Self-starter with a proactive approach to problem-solving. Familiarity with the 3E finance platform is beneficial but not essential.
