Job Title: Legal Cashier
Location: Exeter (Hybrid)
Employment Type: Full time, permanent
Salary: 28,000 - 30,000
Overview
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established law firm for an experienced Legal Cashier to join their finance team. This is a key role responsible for ensuring accurate financial processing and compliance with regulatory requirements, including the Solicitors' Accounts Rules.
Key Responsibilities

• Processing client and office account transactions in accordance with the Solicitors' Accounts Rules
• Managing receipts, payments, transfers, and billing transactions
• Posting and reconciling bank transactions and client balances
• Preparing and processing CHAPS, BACS, and international payments
• Supporting month-end and year-end financial procedures
• Assisting with audits and compliance checks
• Liaising with fee earners and external parties regarding financial queries
• Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience as a Legal Cashier within a law firm or legal environment is highly advantageous
• Working knowledge of the Solicitors' Accounts Rules
• Previous finance experience
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
• Proficiency in legal accounting software and Microsoft Excel
