Legal Cashier Role Overview
NC Associates has an exciting opportunity for a Legal Cashier to join a forward-thinking law firm who are offering a rare opportunity for remote working. You must be able/committed to travelling to the Merseyside area for 3 or 4 days for the first few weeks for training before the role will become fully remote. As the Legal Cashier you will report into the Head Cashier.
Legal Cashier Responsibilities:
- Monitoring receipt of funds to client and office accounts.
- Bank reconciliations for both office and client accounts.
- Processing all accounting transactions in accordance with the Solicitors Accounts Rules
- Completion of month and year end processes.
- Preparation of VAT reports.
- Checking that all payment and receipt requests are authorised
- Setting up of banking payments for authorisation.
- Responding to legal cashiering accounts queries.
- Managing and processing the accounts payable ledger.
- Previous experience in a Legal Cashier or similar finance role within a law firm
- Sound knowledge of Solicitors' Accounts Rules (SAR) and legal accounting procedures
- Knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rules
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to work to deadlines
