Job Description

My client are a media/sports organisation.
They are looking to appoint a highly motivated legal counsel to join their legal team. The role will involve working closely with the commercial team on various deal negotiations and ongoing contract and relationship management.
This role will suit a candidate with ideally NQ-2 years' post qualification experience. You will be part of a small team of three lawyers and one paralegal.
Key responsibilities:

• drafting and negotiating a wide variety of commercial contracts
• drafting licence agreements for use of intellectual property
• managing regular ongoing external stakeholder communications

The candidate will also have the opportunity to be involved in:

• reviewing, negotiating and drafting various ancillary contracts such as NDAs or MOUs
• assisting with other related commercial matters, including providing strategic and practical advice to a variety of teams within the business
• working closely with the Compliance department
• preparing and managing contract summaries and supporting commercial teams in their management of contracts
• supporting the Procurement team in relation to agreements for the provision of goods and services, including reviewing and negotiating standard terms and conditions and data processing addendums
• conducting legal research to support business decisions and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations

Candidates requirements:

• trained and qualified as a lawyer at a top tier firm, into a commercial or corporate practice area.
• Solid experience of legal drafting and might have relevant industry sector experience such as media, sport, entertainment, infrastructure or major projects
• are enthusiastic, have a strong "can-do" attitude and a willingness to expand their skillset
• are agile, organised, can manage multiple workstreams simultaneously and deliver results under pressure to a deadline
• have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders
• have excellent attention to detail
• are team players and understand of the importance of building relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• take responsibility for own workstreams and will be natural problem solvers
