Join the Close Brothers Legal Team where you will be responsible for providing legal advice and support to the Bank's Motor Finance business, which is part of the Retail division of the Bank.
Working as part of the Legal team our ideal team member will have previous experience in providing advice on the legal ramifications of commercial and strategic activities and delivery with a team-focused, proactive and commercial mindset
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead on significant contract drafting, negotiation and structuring, including advice to stakeholders across the business and in key functions (including Product, Sales, Risk, Compliance and Finance)
  • Involvement in areas in which the role holder may not themselves be a subject matter expert.
  • Contributing towards presentations and materials for key risk and compliance meetings including assisting with legal papers/packs.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for the business if incidents occur.
  • Assist with key change / transformation activities, including actions linked to external and regulatory developments.
  • Identification and elevation of material risks to appropriate stakeholders / risk committees in consultation with colleagues.
  • Ensure that all Governance and Compliance requirements are adhered to and all reporting and reviewing activities required by the Regulatory Bodies are carried out to the standards required.
WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE/ARE:
  • Broad commercial contracts experience (technology / software contracts and data protection experience).
  • Demonstrable contract drafting and negotiation exposure in a fast-paced environment.
  • A flexible approach and willingness to assist with matters the role holder may not be a subject matter expert in.
  • A qualified solicitor in England & Wales
IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE:
  • In-house experience.
  • Financial Services and / or Motor industry exposure.
  • Familiarity with commercial lending facilities.
  • Past experience of legal input to project delivery and business transformation programmes.
