Department description
The role of the Legal team is:

  • to manage legal risks across the Marex Group
  • to support the Marex Group's global business activities (working closely with all Marex colleagues). The Legal Graduate will be supporting the global legal team
Role Summary
Assisting the Head of Commercial & M&A Legal, Head of Corporate Legal and Head of Solutions and Capital Markets Legal with managing legal risk arising from Marex Group's global business.
Advising on all aspects of legal work associated with the Marex Group's global business.

  • To be eligible for the 2026 graduate programme, you must have graduated in 2025 or be due to graduate in 2026.
Overall Responsibilities
Legal team responsibilities for the Legal Graduate will include (but not be limited to) the following:
  • Draft, negotiate and advise on third-party agreements and communications across the Marex Group
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on a variety of topics including contracts negotiations, business queries and business updates
  • Assist with the review of legal, corporate and regulatory developments affecting the Marex Group and collaborate with internal teams as needed with regard to their implementation
  • Update and maintain appropriate records for the legal team
  • Arrange the execution of various documents with authorised signatories
  • Review contractual rights in the context of day-today operations
  • Proactively learn about and develop internal documentation systems
  • Complete due diligence on acquisition targets
  • Draft comprehensive due diligence reports
  • Support and input into pre-completion and post-completion acquisition integration activities
  • Assisting the global Legal department with other routine and urgent or ad hoc matters from time to time.

  • Ensuring compliance with the company's regulatory requirements under the FCA
  • Adhering to the operational risk framework for your role ensuring that all regulatory or company determined parameters are complied with

  • At all times complying with the FCA's Code of Conduct
  • Ensuring that you are fully aware of and adhere to internal policies that relate to you, your role or any other activities for which you have any level of responsibility
  • Reporting any breaches of policy to Compliance and/ or your supervisor as required
  • Escalating risk events immediately
  • Providing input to risk management processes, as required

Skills and Experience

  • Experience/knowledge of working in a regulated environment and knowledge of the risk and compliance requirements associated with this
