The Vacancy

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Legal Professional to join our Cross Area Specialist Team "CAST" within Fieldfisher\'s Belfast Hub.

The successful candidate will gain experience across a number of practice areas including Dispute Resolution, Corporate, Real Estate, Privacy, Regulatory, Personal Injury and Medical Negligence. This role will require working on high profile matters with our London, Manchester, Birmingham and Dublin offices, alongside teams that are market leaders in their field known for providing a first class level of service. The successful candidate will be joining a fast-pace, fun and inclusive team, working alongside a team of nine Legal Professionals and a Solicitor Team Leader.

What can you expect?

  • Drafting, reviewing and preparing documentation
  • Data extraction and analysis of contracts
  • Drafting non-complex banking and finance documents, including ancillary documents
  • Ad-hoc company searches, etc. in support of legal opinions or as part of due diligence
  • Proof reading documents
  • Document management
  • Working with legal technology tools
  • E-Discovery, working on a document review team and assisting with Data Subject Access Requests
  • Liaising closely with the Partner/Associate running the matter and on the redaction process relaying information in a timely manner
  • Attending team meetings and providing reporting as required
  • Interviewing witnesses and drafting witness statements
  • Liaising with the client and third parties in both written and verbal format
  • Preparing electronic bundles
  • Liaising with Land Registry and various banks to register legal and equitable charges on property
  • Legal research and other investigative tasks
  • Providing essential support to the team
  • Administrative tasks
A bit about you
  • A minimum of 12 months experience of working as a Paralegal / Legal Professional.
  • Strong educational background and law degree preferable with a minimum grade of 2:1.
  • Experience of working in a large commercial environment highly desirable.
  • Experience in contentious areas of law preferable.
  • Experience of some of the following is highly desirable:
  • working in a document review team and a solid understanding of privilege;
  • Corporate due diligence;
  • using Legal Technology tools;
  • Conveyancing;
  • Serious Injury;
  • Privacy law;
  • Experience handling a varied and busy workload.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills.
  • Commercial understanding allowing you to foresee upcoming needs and act proactively.
  • Team player.
  • Ability to work methodically and at pace, even when time pressured.
  • Reliable and professional.
  • Good written and strong communication skills.
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Enthusiastic, keen and proactive.
  • Preparedness to exceed expectations and be fully committed to the role.
