You will work on a 121 basis, supporting a Solicitor within the highly successful Private Client department.
Although applications are preferred from experienced private client Legal Secretaries, getting the right person for the role is the most important thing so we also welcome applications from candidates with some legal secretarial experience and the willingness to learn and develop within a private client environment.
Legal Secretarial experience is essential, Private Client training will be provided for the right candidate.
Consideration will be given to candidates looking for full-time employment, or 4 days per week.
Duties include:
Supporting the fee earner with administration of estates, completing legal forms such as inheritance tax returns, and completing executry accounts
Communicating and assisting clients on behalf of the fee earner
Collating legal papers
Managing diaries, and making appointments
Drafting Wills, Codicils & Powers of Attorney from dictation
Making calls as requested to ascertain shareholdings etc
Ensuring general organisation and smooth running of matters
Essential criteria:
Previous experience of working as a Legal Secretary (ideally within a Private Client Department)
Fast and accurate audio and copy typing skills
Excellent IT skills including MS Office and digital dictation
Excellent communication skills with the ability to form rapport with clients
Proactive with excellent organisational skills
