We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Secretary to join our typing pool.
Our secretarial team cover all areas of law.
The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational skills and a proactive approach to administrative tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of our office. As a Legal Secretary, you will play a crucial role in supporting our legal professionals by managing documentation, scheduling appointments, and facilitating communication within the firm.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive administrative support to solicitors and legal team.
Prepare, proofread, and format legal documents and correspondence using Microsoft Word, email and our case management system.
Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate appointments.
Audio typing of legal documents and transcriptions with accuracy.
Maintain an organised filing system for both electronic and paper documents.
Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and external parties.
Assist in the preparation of case files and ensure all necessary documentation is available for court proceedings.
Handle confidential information with discretion and maintain professional integrity at all times.
Experience
Proficiency in IT applications, particularly Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Previous experience in a legal setting is advantageous but not essential.
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
Familiarity with audio typing is preferred but training can be provided.
