We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Secretary to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will assist lawyers and other staff in typing and general administration duties, managing client meeting appointments, estate agency viewings, answering telephones and other general secretarial duties. This role requires strong organisational skills, excellent communication abilities, excellent grammar, spelling and typing skills and proficiency in various office software.
Responsibilities
Assist in the typing of legal documents, letters, emails and file administration.
Organise and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are accurate and up-to-date.
Communicate effectively with clients, other legal staff and the general public.
Manage schedules for solicitors.
Utilise office software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook to create documents and manage correspondence.
Ensure compliance with legal procedures and regulations throughout the case management process.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a secretary or in a similar role within a legal environment is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is essential.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines effectively.
Ability to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing with excellent spelling and grammar and attention to detail.
Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures is advantageous but not mandatory.
A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong attention to detail is required.
