We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Legal Secretary to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills and a solid understanding of legal terminology and procedures. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our office, providing essential support to our legal professionals and contributing to the overall efficiency of our practice.
Duties
Provide comprehensive administrative support to our solicitor, including managing schedules and appointments.
Prepare, proofread, and format legal documents, correspondence, and reports using Microsoft Word and other software applications.
Conduct audio typing for dictations, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail in all transcriptions.
Maintain organised filing systems for both electronic and physical documents, ensuring easy retrieval of information.
Manage incoming communications via telephone, email (using Microsoft Outlook), and in-person inquiries with professionalism and courtesy.
Utilise Case Management system for data entry, tracking case progress, and managing schedules effectively.
Qualifications
Proven administrative experience, preferably within a legal setting or similar environment.
Proficient in audio typing with excellent typing speed and accuracy.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients and colleagues alike.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook would be advantageous, but not compulsory
Familiarity with IT systems relevant to document management and office operations.
Exceptional organisational skills with a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
