We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Secretary / Receptionist, to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational skills and a keen ability to communicate effectively. This role involves providing comprehensive administrative support to legal professionals, ensuring the smooth operation of our office and assisting in the management of legal documentation.
Responsibilities
Prepare and draft legal documents, correspondence, and reports using Microsoft Word and Excel.
Maintain and organise case files, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
Manage calendars, schedule appointments, and coordinate meetings using Outlook.
Conduct research as required to support legal proceedings.
Handle audio typing tasks efficiently to transcribe recordings accurately.
Communicate with clients, courts, and other stakeholders professionally and courteously.
Assist in the preparation of trial materials and presentations as needed.
Ensure compliance with legal procedures and confidentiality standards.
Provide effective cover for our reception area during lunch times and for holiday cover.
Experience
Proven experience as a Legal Secretary or in a similar administrative role within a legal environment is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is essential.
Strong IT skills with the ability to adapt to new software quickly.
Excellent organisational skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Experience with audio typing is advantageous but not mandatory.
