The Legal Solutions Engineer plays a key role in delivering technology-enabled legal solutions at BCLP. As a subject matter expert in legal technology, they help to evaluate incoming requests, gather and refine requirements, and configure platforms to develop tailored, effective solutions designed to enhance operational efficiency and drive better outcomes for clients. These platforms span document automation, workflow automation, artificial intelligence, and data visualisation. The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams across the firm and offers continuous opportunities for professional growth and development.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements Gathering & Process Analysis
Support workshops and meetings with stakeholders to understand existing legal processes, identify areas for improvement, and help document requirements for new solutions.
Design & Implementation of Legal Technology
Assist in the design, configuration, and implementation of legal technology solutions, including tools that use automation, decision-tree logic, and data visualisation. Collaborate with team members and vendors to tailor platforms to specific use cases.
AI and Emerging Technologies
Contribute to the exploration and testing of AI and emerging technologies, helping to integrate new capabilities into existing systems. Support the team in assessing potential benefits and risks for stakeholders.
Training & User Support
Help deliver training sessions, demonstrations, and user support to promote adoption and understanding of legal technology tools across teams and clients.
Governance and Standard Operating Procedures
Work with the Legal Solutions Manager and team to maintain documentation and support the development of standard operating procedures that promote consistency and efficiency.
Innovation & Strategic Initiatives
Participate in initiatives that explore innovative uses of legal technology. Help raise awareness of useful features and contribute to developing use cases that improve service delivery.
Metrics & Reporting
Assist in tracking and reporting on the adoption and impact of legal technology solutions, using data to support continuous improvement efforts.

Experience and knowledge
Essential:
2+ years of experience in developing custom solutions using legal technology platforms like HighQ, Contract Express and BRYTER.
Good understanding of legal documents, processes, and the complexity of legal workflows.
Skilled in stakeholder engagement, able to work directly and independently with clients and team members at all levels.
Exceptional ability to explain legal technology solutions in clear, non-technical terms.
Desirable:
Strong broad IT skills
