This is an exciting opportunity for someone keen to start their career in the legal industry, and to gain hands on experience within the civil litigation field. R Costings deals with all types of legal costs arising from personal injury, property disputes, RTA's, Court of Protection, and clinical negligence claims (to name a few) so you will gain invaluable experience across a range of cases and of the civil litigation process. Whilst an interest in the legal industry is desirable, full training and support will be provided with the opportunity to progress.
Role and Responsibilities
To assist the Cost Drafting team, Fee Earners and Management/Financial assistant. Responsible for the following duties
Serving & filing documents on opponents/Court
Preparing and issuing Part 8, N252 and other documents
Drafting N260 Statement of costs
Liaising with the Court for turnarounds and locating court orders
Working with Management Assistant to keep reports up to date
Review relevant filing dates and set reminders for fee earners
Working with Court of Protection team e-filing bills of costs and liaising with COP clients
Booking in new matters onto our case management system
Working with fee earners to ensure task lists are completed daily
Preparation of court bundles
Locating missing documents and generally assisting fee earning team
Archiving and other administrative tasks such as answering telephones, dealing with post and general filing
Qualifications and Education Requirements
GCSE's - English and Maths Grade 5 or higher
