We have an exciting opportunity for a Leisure Manager to join our team at New Lanark Mill Hotel. We have a fully functioning leisure facility with swimming pool, sauna, steam room, gymnasium and spa treatment rooms. Our Leisure Manager will be an integral part of the team leading from the front with a hands on and can do attitude to ensure our guests and visitors have a first class experience.

New Lanark Mill Hotel is unlike any other in Scotland. Originally an 18th century cotton mill, we offer 38 spacious and stylish bedrooms that combine traditional charm with modern convenience. We're rated four stars by VisitScotland, and have a Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor. We are owned and operated by New Lanark Trust an independent Scottish Charity which is responsible for the ongoing conservation and promotion of New Lanark World Heritage Site.

Who we are looking for.



We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Leisure Manager to oversee the operations of our leisure facilities and spa treatment rooms. As the leader of the department, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of guest satisfaction by delivering great service, managing day-to-day operations, and driving revenue growth through leisure use and spa treatments. The ideal candidate will have a passion and understanding of the hospitality industry, a strong background in leisure and spa management, and a commitment to promoting health and wellness.

Key responsibilities:



Manage all aspects of the leisure and spa facilities, including scheduling, staffing, inventory management, and facility maintenance. Lead and motivate a team of leisure attendants and spa therapists and support staff to deliver outstanding service to achieve performance targets. Develop and implement strategic plans to drive revenue growth in both leisure and wellness whilst improving guest satisfaction, and maximising profitability. Oversee the planning and execution of leisure subscriptions, spa treatments, spa days, residential spa breaks and wellness programs, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for guests. Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety throughout the facility Monitor guest feedback and reviews, address any concerns or complaints promptly, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the guest experience. Collaborate with the sales and marketing team to promote spa services, packages, and special promotions, and participate in marketing events and initiatives. Manage departmental budgets, track expenses, and analyse financial performance to identify areas for cost savings and revenue optimisation.

Qualifications and Skills:



Bachelor's degree or diploma in Hospitality Management, Leisure Management, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience in leisure management or a similar role within the hospitality industry. Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate the team. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills. Proven track record of driving revenue growth and achieving financial targets. In-depth knowledge of spa treatments, wellness practices, and fitness activities. Familiarity with industry regulations, health and safety standards, and best practices. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and PremierSpa software. Certifications in fitness instruction, or related areas are an advantage. Passion for health, wellness, and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
