Brief Description

We are looking for Waltham Forrest borough residents who are interested in completing a Level 2 Bricklaying apprenticeship. The successful candidate will spend 24 months working as a Brickwork Apprentice as part of the CITB Shared Apprenticeship Scheme. Employed by Evolve Apprentices while earning a wage, gaining experience, and qualifications

Qualifications Required

English GCSE G/1 or above (or equivalent)

Maths GCSE G/1 or above (or equivalent)

Personal Qualities

Able to work on site, keen learner, resident of Waltham Forrest borough

Skills Required

IT skills, Attention to detail, Problem-solving skills, Teamwork, Initiative, Patience, Physical fitness

Training to be Provided

Apprentices without level 1 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking the end-point assessment.

What will the apprentice be doing?

The main duties and tasks of a Bricklaying Apprentice are:

General labouring, tidying of site, and tool/equipment fetching Mixing and turning mortar, loading boards Moving, stacking and passing bricks Laying of bricks and blocks

Bricklayers lay bricks, blocks, and other types of building components in mortar to construct and repair walls, foundations, partitions, arches, and other structures e.g., chimney stacks. They might also refurbish brickwork and masonry on restoration projects.
