The Level 2 Carpentry Apprenticeship offers a comprehensive training program designed for individuals seeking to develop advanced skills in carpentry and construction. This paid apprenticeship provides hands-on experience in various aspects of carpentry, including framing, trim work, blueprint reading, and restoration projects. Participants will work closely with experienced journeymen to enhance their technical expertise and prepare for a successful career in the construction industry.
Responsibilities
Assist with construction estimating and project planning to support accurate material and labor cost assessments
Perform trim carpentry, framing, and door hanging tasks under supervision
Operate hand tools, power tools, CNC equipment, and fabrication machinery safely and effectively
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings for diverse projects
Contribute to concrete forming, masonry, roofing, siding, and metal stud framing activities
Support plastering, drywall installation, caulking, stucco application, and flooring or tile laying projects
Engage in water damage restoration, mold remediation, water damage repair, and general remodeling tasks
Assist with fixture installation, cabinetry, cabinetry installation, electrical wiring, plumbing, and HVAC-related work as needed
Participate in heavy lifting and material handling to ensure safety and efficiency on-site
Follow safety protocols at all times to maintain a secure construction environment
Requirements
Prior experience or familiarity with construction site activities is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential
Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools operation
Ability to read blueprints and schematics accurately
Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in various environmental conditions
Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety standards
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment
Prior experience or knowledge in areas such as woodworking, restoration industry experience, metal stud framing, CNC fabrication, or remodeling is a plus
Demonstrated interest in construction trades through maintenance person experience or related fields is advantageous
