We are looking for a reliable, fun Level 3 Qualified After-School Practitioner to join our small, nurturing Pre-school.
The working hours are between
3pm-6pm, Monday-Friday
, with a competitive salary and flexibility on working days.
The position is Term Time only, with flexible days.
Essential criteria
Level 3 Qualification in Early years, Playworker or similar.
To be flexible, friendly and approachable
To be a team player
Excellent communication skills
To have appreciation and understanding of the theory and practice of playwork, including how to support children's play and development
To have the ability and passion to promote equality, diversity and inclusion in variety of ways.
Experience in planning activities and working towards next steps
Previous Pre-School, nursery or school experience
Desirable criteria
Paediatric first aid trained
Experience using online learning journeys
Safeguarding and SEND qualified
Experience of supporting children with SEND
Experience working with Primary Aged pupils
The desire to complete further training to enhance knowledge, and skill set.
Experience of working with external agencies/proffesionals.

Job Title: After School club Practitioner
Responsible to: Pre-School Manager / Chair of management committee
Purpose of the job: To be part of our wonderful, friendly team and to provide a safe, stimulating environment that supports the high-quality education and care for Pre-School children and after-school club children; to fulfil legal and statutory requirements; to follow and adhere to Pre-School policies.
Main Duties:
To communicate and work effectively with the staff team and have a good sense of humour!
To ensure the Pre-School is a safe environment for children, that equipment is safe, standards of hygiene are high, safety procedures are implemented at all times and fire drills are practised regularly.
To promote and provide an inclusive environment.
To advise the Management team of any concerns, accidents/incidents
To assist in the cleaning up of activities
To encourage positive behaviour by presenting yourself as a good role model
To adhere to the group's policies and procedures
To attend meetings and appropriate training courses
To ensure confidentiality at all times.
To have a sound understanding of children's developmental requirements
To attend in-service training and meetings as required.
