We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Shift Leader to oversee daily operations and ensure a positive environment for both staff and children. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for early childhood education. This role requires effective communication and the ability to foster a nurturing atmosphere while maintaining high standards of care.
Duties
Supervise and support staff during shifts, ensuring all team members are performing their duties effectively.
Plan and implement engaging activities for children, promoting their development and learning.
Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for children and staff.
Communicate effectively with parents regarding their children's progress and any concerns that may arise.
Assist in training new staff members, providing guidance on best practices in childcare.
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations as well as organisational policies.
Handle administrative tasks related to the nursery's operations as required.
Skills
Proven management and leadership abilities, with experience in supervising teams.
Previous experience working with children in a childcare or nursery setting is essential.
Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices.
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate transportation needs related to the role.
