Overview

Little Leaf Nursery is looking for a Level 3 qualified Early Years Practitioner to join our team. Staff needs to have experience working with children from ages 0 to 5 years or even beyond. They need to be flexible as the hours will be between Monday to Friday ( 20 to 35 hours ) or required to do overtime if needed. They should be a good team player , hardworking and enjoy working with children. Nursery is open from 7.30 to 6pm so working hours could be early start or late finish, so keep this in mind when applying for job. Nursery is open 51 weeks and closes 1 week for christmas. Responsibilities

Develop and implement engaging educational programmes tailored to the needs of young children. Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all children. Observe and assess children's development, providing feedback to parents and guardians. Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging their social, emotional, and cognitive development. Collaborate with colleagues to ensure high standards of care and education are maintained. Maintain accurate records of children's progress and development. Communicate effectively with parents, keeping them informed about their child's achievements and any concerns. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the nursery setting.

Skills

Previous experience working with children in a childcare or nursery setting is essential. A solid understanding of early childhood education principles and practices. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, particularly in English. Ability to build rapport with children, families, and colleagues alike. Driving licence preferred for potential transportation needs related to outings or activities. A creative approach to problem-solving and the ability to adapt activities to suit individual children's needs. Acceptable Level 3 Early Years Qualifications (counted in ratios) . Must be on the DfE "Early Years Qualifications List" (previously the "Full & Relevant" list). Examples include:

Level 3 Early Years Educator (EYE)Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (EYE)

CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Childcare & Education (Early Years Educator)

CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Early Years Education and Care (EYE)

BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Children's Play, Learning & Development (Early Years Educator pathway)

NVQ Level 3 in Children's Care, Learning & Development (Early Years)

NVQ Level 3 in Early Years Care & Education NNEB (National Nursery Examination Board) Diploma (pre-2005 - still recognised if full & relevant)
