Full-time, Mon-Fri, 9 Hours-a-day, All year round

Salary:

8.00 per hour (above apprenticeship wage)

About Us:

Starfish Day Nursery is a well-established, Ofsted-rated Good early years setting in the heart of Chadderton, Oldham, providing nurturing childcare and education for children from 6 weeks up to 5 years. We also have a holiday club and wrap around care for children up to 12 years old. We pride ourselves on creating a warm, welcoming, and stimulating environment where every child feels safe, valued and encouraged to grow and explore through play, creativity and discovery. With spacious, thoughtfully designed rooms, a large outdoor garden, nutritious meals prepared on-site, we support children's development across all areas of learning while building strong relationships with families and the local community.

Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification

Are ready to take on a new challenge or change of career Have some life/work experience to bring (for example, as a parent or through working in other roles) Want to develop new skills in a supportive, professional nursery environment

Key Responsibilities:

Support the care, learning, and development of children aged 0-5 years Assist with planning and delivering engaging activities in line with the EYFS framework Work alongside experienced practitioners to provide a safe, nurturing environment Observe and record children's progress with support from your team Build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues Encourage children's independence and help with daily routines

Requirements:

MUST hold a GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths, or equivalent Functional Skills Level 2

Ability to gain an Enhanced DBS (we'll support you with this) A genuine passion for working with children Willingness to complete a Level 3 Early Years Apprenticeship Reliable, responsible, and committed to learning Good communication and teamwork skills Previous childcare experience is helpful but not essential
