We have vacancies for a Level 3 Early Years Practitioner and a Deputy Supervisor.
The Valley Preschool is a charitable run (CIO) preschool situated in the grounds of Meonstoke Infant School. We aim to provide a safe, nurturing, engaging environment where the children can develop and learn through play to reach their full potential. We believe that children should have the opportunities to grow, explore, discover, and focus their attention . Our motivated and dedicated team have the flexibility to plan in the moment following the child's interests and what motivates them, providing opportunities to extend what the children already know. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality Early years education and support to children in a nurturing environment.
As a practitioner you will also work as a key person to small group of children for whom you will create a broad and enriching curriculum with the support of your colleagues and management team.
A sound understanding of child development in-line with the EYFS(2021) is essential, as well as respect for individual needs and learning styles. You must enjoy working within a professional Early Years staff team and be able to communicate effectively with colleagues, children and within partnership with parents. A sense of humour, an enthusiastic approach and ability to contribute towards working within a safe, stimulating early years' environment is vital.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Level 3 in Children's Care, Learning & Development or equivalent.
Proven experience in childcare or early childhood education is essential.
Certificates in Safeguarding, Food Hygiene and First Aid are desirable. Full training given.
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development.
Ability to drive initiatives that enhance the learning experience for children.
Previous experience in a nursery setting is highly desirable.
Relevant qualifications in early childhood education or childcare would be an advantage.
