Required qualificaitons: Level 3 Early years Educator (or equivalent) qualification. Please note that Health and Social Care is not a suitable qualification for this role.

This is a temporary role until July 2026 though there may be an opportunity to extend.

Hours: Monday to Friday, term time only, 9am to 3pm. For the right candidate we can be flexible to a degree on the working hours.

Overtime: There will be the option for overtime at our holiday club for primary school children (first week of Easter holidays and 4 weeks in the summer). This can also be worked with the option to take time off in lieu during term time.

About us: We are a small team who work closely to provide the best possible early years education for our children. We have a very flexible ethos, meaning we adapt our routine, set up and provision according to the needs of the children - sometimes on a day to day basis. We work very closely with families as we believe our role is not only to support the child. Our main aim is for children to have fun while we support them to learn and develop through their play.

Job responsibilities:

You will be working with children aged 6 months to 5 years. You should have an understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage including how children develop in all areas of learning and how you can suppor their progress.

You will be a key person to up to 7 children. Therefore you will ideally be confident at building relationships with children and their families as well as observing and assessing development.

You will be required to plan and implement a wide range of activities inside and outside. This may be in advance but is often in the moment. Therefore you should be able to quickly consider your learning intentions based on your knowledge of the children. You should also be able to discuss the impact that your provision has had on individual and groups of children. You should also be able to reflect on your practice, considering how you could improve or extend on the experiences you have provided.

You will be required to undertake personal care routines such as nappy changing and toileting for all children in the setting. You will also be required to support with cleaning and packing away the setting at the end of the day. You will lead or support routines such as snack time, singing/storytime or other group activities.
