Network Security Engineering Team Lead

Job purpose:

To assist with a wide range of networking and security projects for our diverse range of mid-market and enterprise clients across finance, retail, manufacturing and technology. This role requires engagement in the full project lifecycle including design, deployment and handover-to-operations.

ITC Customers, Sales Engineering, Operations Centre, PMO, Network Security Engineering, CTO

The role will involve:




Designing secure network solutions for customers based on sales proposals. Design work will encompass customer technical workshops, creation of high and low level design documentation, create and run POC to validate solution. Implementing secure network solutions for customers encompassing; Change preparation, creating and populating configuration templates, building change, testing scripts and deployment run books based on design, configuration and deployment of routers, switches and firewalls. Lead engineer on large (multi month) and small projects working through the full lifecycle through design and deployment, to hand over to operational support. Managing competing pressures and workloads. Contribute to the knowledge resource, developing tool sets, guides and processes to improve the effectiveness of the team. Developing skills within the network security field and keeping up to date with the latest technology and developments. Become a subject matter expert on products and solutions within the team and wider organisation.



We are looking for someone with:




Customer-facing with good documentation skills and strong communication skills at all levels. Ability to consistently deliver to deadlines while prioritising competing demands for work. You must be professional, hard-working and have an ability to pay attention to detail. You must be enthusiastic, have a keen interest in the technology and a drive to develop yourself both in technical knowledge and its application to meet customer requirements. You should have experience of ITIL processes and structured ways of working. You must be familiar and comfortable configuring and troubleshooting infrastructure through both command line and GUI. Willingness to share information, improve documentation, develop solutions and mentor other engineers. Able to meet demands for out-of-hours working. Good working knowledge of networking; L2 and L3 concepts, best practices, operation and security. Strong hands-on experience with Cisco switching and routing platforms, including configuration, troubleshooting, and design across campus and WAN environments Strong data centre networking experience, including technologies such as Cisco ACI, Nexus platforms (5K/7K/9K), VXLAN, EVPN, and multi-site fabric design Strong multi-vendor firewall experience, including Cisco ASA, Firepower, Palo Alto Networks, and FortiGate firewalls Cisco & Meraki Wi-Fi Forescout and/or Cisco ISE Network Access Control (NAC) SolarWinds network monitoring. Experience with ThousandEyes for end-to-end network and application performance monitoring, path visualisation, and alerting Experience in other network / security products and public cloud networking is desirable but not essential. CCNP R&S certification or equivalent experience/knowledge (essential). Palo Alto PCNSA/PCNSE (essential) Cisco Wi-Fi certification and engineering experience (essential) You may have Cisco CCIE R&S certification (highly desirable) Cisco CCNA/CCNP Security; Checkpoint SA/SE (desirable) Cloud Provider certifications; AWS SAA/SAP, Azure MCSA CP; MCSE CP&I (desirable) ITIL and/or project management certification. You may have a Diploma or bachelor's degree in a related field



Working hours:

Normal working hours are 7.5 hours a day, Monday - Friday

Occasional out of hours or weekend work may be required.

Working location:

ITC Secure is operating a hybrid working model, with the option to access our London, Canary Wharf office when needed.
