The Management team at Gateway Nursery are keen to receive applications from people that are wanting to develop their knowledge and skills within the Early Years sector as a Level 3 Apprentice.

We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic person who has a passion for working within Early Years education.

This post is for a level 2/3 Apprentice or a level 2 Practitioner who will be looking to train up to a level 3

Gateway Nursery is located in the Village of Bartestree, just on the outskirts of the city of Hereford. The Nursery has been established for over 30 years, providing high quality, sessional childcare to children between the ages of 6 months to 4 years. We also offer after-school collection and holiday Clubs to children from ages of 4-11 years. The Nursery is in a purpose -built single story modern building on a fantastic site with large outdoor areas. We are an Ofsted "Good" Rated Nursery.

Main role will include:



To support all staff members with providing good quality care for all children within the setting. To support children's learning through providing stimulating activities and supporting the weekly planning within the room. You will be required as part of your training to learn and understand how to implement the Early Years Foundation Stage within your practice and show this through completing observations that demonstrate children's learning.

You will be responsible to the senior member of the team within the room and also the Management team within the nursery.

As part of your training, you will complete ongoing training, which may include online training, face to face contact with your assessor, and tasks set by the senior within the room or the Management team. You will have assignments that will need to be completed in a timely manner, and you will need to ensure that you feedback to the Management team on a monthly basis, the assignments that are set and the work that you have completed for this task. You will be provided with a mentor to go to for support and guidance throughout your training

Main Responsibilities



Working confidently within a team Work with a small group of key children, with guidance from experienced staff, to support and extend children's development using the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum, this includes completing observations and working on next steps. Learn to work with parents to provide effective feedback Follow health and safety and Safeguarding procedures (understand the importance of risk assessments) Develop good communication skills with all children, parents and carers Assist with the care, maintenance and security of all equipment and toys. Under the guidance of the room lead, be able to prepare and provide healthy and nutritious food, for example, morning and afternoon snacks. Understand and be able to risk assess all children's activities. Maintain strict confidentiality and act professionally at all times. To be 100% committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. To be a reliable member of the team, working co-operatively and with flexibility. Adhere to the code of conduct and support colleagues to do the same
Salary will exceed minimum wage for Apprentice rates.
