We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Preschool Nursery Assistant to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a strong understanding of early childhood education principles. This role is essential in providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children, supporting their development and learning through play and structured activities.
Responsibilities
Assist in the daily care and supervision of children in the nursery setting.
Create a welcoming atmosphere that encourages children's exploration and learning.
Support the planning and implementation of age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, and social development.
Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative approach to childcare.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the nursery environment.
Observe children's behaviour and progress, providing feedback to senior staff as necessary.
Manage daily routines including meal times, nap times, and play sessions.
Drive initiatives that foster leadership among peers while promoting teamwork.
Qualifications
Previous experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is highly desirable.
A background in Early Childhood Education or related fields is advantageous.
Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a calm demeanour.
Leadership qualities that inspire confidence in both children and colleagues.
A genuine passion for childcare and an understanding of child development principles.
A level 3 Early Years Qualification is required for this role.
A paediatric first aid certificate is desirable but not essential as we can put you on this training.
An enhanced DBS will be needed for the role, if you are not already on the update service.

Part time hours. 16 hours available at the moment which will be spread across two days Tuesday and Thursday. This is a term-time only position, starting in September 2025.
