We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about early childhood education and committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your management and leadership skills within a supportive childcare setting. Previous nursery experience and a strong understanding of child development are essential for success in this position.
The hours for the position are Monday to Friday, on an 8 hour rotating shift between 7am and 6pm, all year round. The position is not available for anyone wanting term time only hours. Please do not apply if you have health and social care as this is not a recognised qualification.
Anyone who applies who does not have a level 3 or above qualification in Early Years will automatically be rejected.
Duties
Plan and deliver engaging activities that promote the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development of children.
Supervise children during playtime, mealtimes, and rest periods, ensuring their safety at all times.
Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily routines in accordance with regulatory standards.
Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication.
Organise and lead group activities that support early childhood learning objectives.
Manage daily nursery operations, including organising resources and maintaining a clean, safe environment.
Support the professional development of junior staff members through guidance and leadership.
Assist with administrative tasks such as planning schedules and updating documentation as required.
Drive nursery vehicles when necessary for outings or transportation needs.
Skills
Proven management and leadership abilities within a childcare or nursery setting.
Extensive experience working with children, demonstrating a sound understanding of early childhood education principles.
Able to adhere to company policies and procedures.
Follow safeguarding regulations.
Childcare qualifications recognised within the UK (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent but not health and social care).
Experience with nursery routines, behaviour management, and developmental assessments.
Ability to organise activities that cater to diverse learning needs.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and planning. This role offers an enriching environment for those passionate about nurturing young minds while developing their management expertise within a professional childcare setting.
