We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery Practitioner to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and childcare with a Level 3 Qualification, with the ability to create a nurturing and stimulating environment for children. We are a small family run nursery with lots of fun and passion for what we do and we would love to meet another team member who shares the same passion for working with our Little Learners!
This position is for full time 30 hour plus flexible working week between 7:30 - 18:00 Monday to Friday all year round. At times there will be a possibility of over time to cover staff holidays and notice will be given ahead of these.
We operate 51 weeks of the year with one week closure for Christmas week.
Responsibilities
Provide high-quality care and education for children aged 0-5 years in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
Develop and implement engaging activities that promote learning through play, fostering children's physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development.
Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to build strong relationships and ensure a supportive nursery environment.
Manage daily routines, including meal times, nap times, and outdoor play, ensuring children's health and safety at all times.
Observe and assess children's progress, maintaining accurate records to inform planning and support individual learning needs.
Work collaboratively with the nursery team to create an inclusive atmosphere that respects diversity and promotes positive behaviour.
Drive initiatives that enhance the nursery's educational offerings and contribute to continuous improvement.
Skills
Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices.
Experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is essential.
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with children, parents, and colleagues.
Leadership qualities to inspire and guide other team members while fostering a positive team environment.
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development through creative play and learning experiences.
