We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nursery Practitioner to join our small independent setting in Sonning Common. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children, supporting their developmental needs through engaging activities and personalised care. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to children's growth while developing your management and leadership skills within a supportive setting. We are currently growing steadily so room to move up the leadership ladder.
Responsibilities
Planning and delivering age-appropriate activities that promote learning, development, and socialisation
Supervising children during playtime, mealtimes, and rest periods to ensure their safety and wellbeing
Supporting children's emotional and behavioural needs with patience and understanding
Maintaining a clean, organised, and welcoming nursery environment
Building strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication
Assisting with the daily administrative tasks related to childcare records and observations
Ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations and nursery policies
Contributing to the ongoing development of nursery programmes to enhance educational outcomes
Experience
Previous experience working with children in a nursery or early childhood setting is highly desirable. newly qualified candidates welcome.
Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childcare best practices
Level 3 childcare qualification or above
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy, and professionalism when engaging with children and parents
Valid DBS on the update service desirable, for those who do not have this a new one will be applied for by the setting
valid paediatric first aid certificate desirable but not essential
