Responsibilities

  • The primary role of the L3 Stores technician is to support the day to day running of the stores. This requires a working knowledge of SAP and strict application of business processes, to be effective.
  • The Stores Technician will perform all transactions via SAP Inventory System to ensure that all Inventory (Stock), Vendor details, Purchase details, receipt details and physical inventory counts follow the PIUK Data standards and is appropriately captured for use in reporting and decision making
  • The role would be a developed role from the Stores operative role, performing all of the required tasks listed in the Stores operative job description but also understanding and executing key stores processes and strategies supported by the Inventory Manager
  • Support the Engineering 100% annual Stock Take
Accountabilities:
  • Processing stock replenishments, leading to receipt of goods inward and locating of items to stock locations. Interaction with suppliers for outstanding orders and escalation to Inventory Manager
  • Processing stock repair replenishments, leading to receipt of goods inward and locating of items to stock locations. Interaction with suppliers for outstanding orders and escalation to Inventory Manager
  • Updating purchase info records and sourcing lists for repair items
  • Ensure used parts are booked out against work order and the correct cost centres are utilised to ensure cost of equipment is as accurate as possible
  • Manage existing stores holdings to meet stores inventory scorecard KPIs
  • Generate requisitions for non-held items and service requirements for equipment, liaising with requestors to feedback expected receipt date.
  • Training and development of new standards and procedures
  • Escalate non-COSHH items received to site through Stores to Safety team to investigate
  • Provide Cover for Indirect Buyer Role
Qualifications
  • In-depth knowledge of stores with a minimum of 2 years industrial experience preferably within a food manufacturing environment
  • In-depth understanding of key financial processes relating to Stores
  • Good knowledge of SAP or other stores planning tools
  • Computer literate. Familiarity with computer software (word, excel, etc)
  • In depth knowledge of Inventory and purchasing practices and systems
  • Good people skills to liaise effectively with customers and suppliers.
  • Concise and in-depth knowledge of CMMS system
