Due to our continued growth, we are looking to recruit a dedicated, enthusiastic and eager to learn, primary school sports coach apprentice, to join our team.
You will work predominantly alongside our full-time PE staff, shadowing and supporting curriculum PE lessons to learn and enhance your school sport delivery techniques. You will also receive opportunities to deliver independently.

The apprenticeship requires travel to and from local schools and a full clean driving licence and car is an essential requirement for this role
Minimum Level 4 in Maths and English Language at GCSE
The Level 4 School Sports Coach apprenticeship is a minimum 16-24 month fixed-term position, depending on start date, with the opportunity to progress onto a full-time position with PH ActiveEd depending on performance and demand for our services. The initial employment contract will be 24 months
There is an expectation that in the 2 year of the apprenticeship that all apprentices take on the responsibility of independent curriculum delivery
Apprentices will deliver our extra-curricular wraparound activities (breakfast clubs are an essential part of the role) and after-school clubs will be delivered based upon demand.
PH ActiveEd offer to successful applicants:
Full-time employment (37.5 hours per week)
14,722.50 per annum (rising to NMW in Year 2)
Mileage paid to and from schools @ 28p a mile (subject to change)
Opportunities to progress within the company via increased responsibility and promotions with the ultimate aim of progressing to a full-time permanent position.

Ongoing internal and external CPD to increase, improve and add to your management and teaching tool kit (annual staff training week, staff development team, internal training modules, first aid and safeguarding training)
Roles/Responsibilities:
Support the planning, delivery and evaluation of high-quality, engaging PE lessons daily
Support with the completion of termly assessments and start/end of year impact reports of pupils
Plan and deliver extra-curricular breakfast, lunch and after school clubs
Liaise with teachers and parents to build positive rapport
Complete general administrative roles where required
Manage time effectively to complete and stay up to date with course work and assignments
Complete all necessary assignments, evaluations and practical assessments as required as part of the Level 4 School Sports Coach apprenticeship, as well online lectures
Candidates will only be considered if they have the following:
Full, clean driving licence (your own transport is essential)
The ability to obtain an enhanced DBS certificate
The ideal candidate will have:
Experience of working with primary school-aged children and in a primary school environment
BTEC Level qualification in a sport or health and social care related subject
Level 1 NGB/Assistant Coaching Qualification (minimum)
Safeguarding level 2 training
Level 3 PESS qualification
Basic understanding of behaviour management and class control
Basic understanding of the PE national curriculum
