Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and skilled HGV Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed and van vehicles. This role involves transporting goods to various locations, ensuring timely delivery while adhering to safety regulations. The successful applicant will also possess strong communication skills and mechanical knowledge to handle minor repairs and maintenance of the vehicle.

Responsibilities

Operate company flatbed vehicles to safely transport cattle housing and handling equipment to farms and sites across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. Ensure timely delivery of products to designated locations while following all traffic laws and regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition. Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and clients regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents that occur during transit. Assist in loading and unloading cargo as required, ensuring that all items are secured properly for transport. Perform minor mechanical repairs and maintenance on the vehicle as needed.

Qualifications

Valid commercial driving licence with appropriate endorsements for flatbed and van vehicles. Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot basic vehicle issues. Excellent communication skills to interact with clients and team members effectively. Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently while adhering to schedules. A good understanding of warehouse operations is advantageous but not essential.

Pay: 13.00-15.00 per hour
