We are now expanding our delivery team and seeking a dedicated, knowledgeable LGV Driving Trainer to support learners undertaking various training programmes, including apprenticeships, short and commercial courses. This is a rewarding opportunity to help develop the next generation of logistics professionals.
Role Overview
As an experienced LGV driver, you will guide and support learners throughout their learning journey from enrolment through to achievement. You will already hold a Category C license and either have experience delivering training or assessment in this industry --or be looking to transition into a trainers role, full training and support will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
Manage your diary so that agreed contact with learners is achieved.
Identify and assess learners' needs and put in place robust learning plans, with realistic and challenging goals, that enable learners to understand their personal journey and realise their potential.
Observe, mark, and review work produced by learners to ensure it is of the appropriate standard to reflect the learner's qualification and meet the needs of the qualification.
Provide insightful, constructive and informative feedback to help the learner maximise their potential.
Proactively monitor, evaluate and improve the quality and effectiveness of own workload and working practices to ensure deadlines and targets are met and that the learner has an outstanding experience.
Provide regular, accurate learner progression information and compliance documents to ensure monthly funding compliance.
Prepare learners for End Point Assessment through mock activities and targeted support.
Contribute to internal quality assurance and standardisation activities.
Vetting, enrolling and coaching the learners from pre-induction through to achievement.
Provide pastoral care and safeguarding support as appropriate.
Essential Criteria
Valid
Category C licence (HGV)
with relevant driving/logistics industry experience.
Passion for education, coaching and supporting learners.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Willingness to travel to employer and learner locations.
To be flexible with working hours to meet industry needs
The ability to train and coach a variety of different personalities
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
The ability to constantly display professionalism
The ability to identify areas of underperformance and take the necessary steps to rectify these specific areas.
Commitment to continuous professional development.
Desirable (training provided if not held):
Teaching or assessing qualification
The capability to use various learning styles
Experience delivering apprenticeships or vocational training.
Understanding of End Point Assessment and apprenticeship standards.
