Established in 1969, Heads of the Valleys Training Limited are one of the leading transport training schools in South Wales, offering professional training services to the transport, logistics and industrial sectors.

Due to retirement and increased demand we are looking for additional instructors to join the team as our operations expand. The main role of this position will be to deliver and instruct LGV/PCV driver training, as well as conducting driver assessments and delivering CPC Module 4 training.

Experience in the training industry is desirable but not essential. Full training will be provided upon start.

Candidates must have held a valid LGV CE licence for over three years.

In addition, PCV D licence held for a minimum of three years is highly desirable.

As the role involves working with novice drivers, it is vital that you are friendly, approachable and a clear communicator. Working hours are 07.45am to 3.45pm, Monday to Friday, but a degree of flexibility is required. Opportunities for Saturday and evening overtime at time and a half. 20 days annual leave, increasing one day each year of service to a maximum of 25.

Mandatory Requirements:

Preferable Requirements:

Also hold PCV D (bus/coach) licence for over 3 years Available for occasional overtime and weekend work Experience in the training industry Experience delivering Driver CPC/ADR courses Enthusiam to develop skills into other areas of training, such as Driver CPC, ADR, Transport Management training, safety training, machinery training etc. Other training qualifications/instructor accreditation such as RTITB, City & Guilds, Highfield, NPORS etc.

Starting salary: 28,500 per year, increasing depending on prior experience and skills. Opportunity to increase salary in line with additional skills/courses you are able to deliver. Flexible start date available.
