UK AOC holder Ascend Airways operate a fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft (NG and MAX) in the ACMI market, opening its first operational base at London Gatwick in early 2024. The company is part of Avia Solutions Group, the world's largest ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) provider, operating a fleet of 221 aircraft on 6 continents.

The Liaison Engineer supports daily technical operations at aircraft operating locations, acting as the primary interface between Ascend Airways and maintenance providers. Working closely with MCC, the role ensures effective coordination of maintenance activities, aircraft recovery, and defect resolution. The working pattern is flexible shifts, including days and nights, with frequent travel to other bases when required.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager and responsible for:
Representing Ascend Airways for Line and Base maintenance at worldwide locations as the operation dictates, including live bases and aircraft transitions
Onsite Liaison with the Maintenance Provider ensuring that contractual requirements and interface agreements are followed and fulfilled, whilst reporting and issues to the Maintenance Manager
Assisting MCC with the identification and requisition of parts and tooling for Scheduled Maintenance, Defect Rectification, ADD's and AOG situations
Attending aircraft arrival, departure, and transits as necessary to carry out Aircraft Reviews to ensure their appearance and standards are kept to the highest level
Being aware of the Aircraft Live Status at any given time and informing MCC of immediate changes
In conjunction with MCC, coordinating AOG Situations if they occur at operating base and destination
Working closely with the MCC and the Maintenance Provider to efficiently manage and rectify all ADD's keeping within company targets
Informing the MCC of possible repetitive defects and proposing a troubleshooting and rectification plan
Completing any Department Compliance Control requirements as required
Acting as MCC when required
Requirements:
CAT A or B1 / B2 License with B737
Minimum 5 years' experience in aviation environment.
Experience with Boeing 737 NG and/or Max
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Application, My Boeing Fleet and AMOS
Excellent Teamwork, communication and organization skills
Knowledge of aircraft Systems, structures and materials
