Brymore is a State Boarding School for boys aged 11 - 16 set in its own 60-acre site with a working farm, gardens, workshops and sports facilities.

We are looking for someone who has a passion for reading and literacy, a desire to work with young people, and the commitment to improving reading outcomes across our academy. In this role, you'll contribute to the improvement of reading ages through supporting interventions and working closely with class teachers and middle leaders.

For candidates with experience working in schools or with young people, we are happy to provide training and support in managing the library and using key systems such as Junior Librarian, Sora, and Accelerated Reader.

Lead the day-to-day running of our library, ensuring it is an inviting, inclusive and dynamic learning environment. Coordinate and support whole-school literacy strategies and reading development programmes. Promote reading for pleasure and organise events to inspire a reading culture, such as book fairs, author visits and World Book Day. Support student access to library and digital resources, and work with staff to improve engagement and reading outcomes. Supervise and train student library ambassadors and support literacy-based extracurricular activities.

What We're Looking For:

Experience in a library or educational setting is beneficial, but not essential - training will be provided. Strong organisational and ICT skills, with the ability to learn new systems. A proactive, approachable individual with excellent communication skills. A team player with a creative mindset and a genuine love for books and learning. A strong commitment to safeguarding, wellbeing, and inclusion.

What We Offer:

A generous local government pension scheme Access to an Employee Rewards package, including high street discounts and a dedicated Staff Wellbeing Centre
