About the role


------------------


The Library Assistant's work within the Subject Liaison Team; providing support for the work of the Subject Liaison Librarians, with particular focus on course resource provision, collection management activities and supporting the information skills programme provided by the Team. This post helps support the Course Reading provision cycle, the Collection Management (digital and print) and participate in the Library Help Services



This role may in part be suitable for remote working. The role holder will be expected to work a minimum of 60% of their time on campus. The pattern of on-campus and remote working will be agreed with the role holder. This is a 0.6fte/21.9 hour post; the salary for this post is 18,877 per annum including London Allowance.

This role does not meet the eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa certificate of sponsorship under UK Visas and Immigration legislation. Therefore, UCL will not be able to sponsor individuals who require right to work in the UK to carry out this role.


About you

We are looking for candidates who have experience of working in a library, including searching for library materials using an online catalogue.



The role involves many routine tasks like loose leaf filing and weeding, so good attention to detail and the ability to carry out repetitive tasks is essential.



As the team provides support for a large group of Subject Liaison Librarians, the post holder will need to have good communication skills and keep colleagues informed of progress.



The role holder will be expected to work a minimum of 2 days/week on campus. The work pattern for the role will be agreed with the line manager but as a preference we would like Tuesdays to be one of the days on site.
