About the Role
We are seeking an experienced
Lift Engineer
to join our team in London, specializing in the installation, maintenance, and repair of lift and escalator systems within high-rise commercial and residential buildings. The role involves working on complex lift systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation in line with UK standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Install, service, maintain, and modernise lift and escalator systems in high-rise buildings.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and control system faults.
Conduct routine inspections in compliance with LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations) and other relevant standards.
Ensure safety systems and procedures are fully operational and adhered to at all times.
Provide on-site emergency breakdown response and repairs.
Collaborate with contractors, site managers, and building owners to ensure seamless operations.
Maintain accurate records of service, repairs, and parts used.
Support project planning for new lift installations and upgrades.
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations, building codes, and manufacturer guidelines.
Skills & Experience
Proven experience as a Lift Engineer, ideally in high-rise buildings.
NVQ Level 3 in Lift Engineering (or equivalent qualification).
Strong knowledge of lift mechanics, electronics, hydraulics, and control systems.
Familiarity with modern lift technology (gearless traction, destination control, regenerative drives).
Up-to-date knowledge of UK standards, including LOLER, PUWER, and EN81.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
Experience with lifts in super high-rise (10 plus storeys) developments.
Knowledge of major lift manufacturers (Otis, Schindler, KONE, ThyssenKrupp, Mitsubishi, Burrol etc )
CSCS Card or equivalent.
First Aid Certification.
