This role reflects the rising demand for intelligent, high performance lighting solutions across commercial, public sector and infrastructure projects. We're looking for a commercially focused & technically minded individual who can drive sales of our lighting control systems and support the wider team in winning and delivering projects.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a Lighting Control Specification Manager to lead the national specification and successful deployment of ASD Lighting's controls business. This role is focused on generating specifications and working with the wider sales team to drive success in converting them into successful projects. Our control offering includes hardwired, wireless, and emergency monitoring solutions, fully integrated into modern building management platforms.
Purpose of the Role
Your goal is simple: drive sales of lighting control systems through your own work and providing technical sales assistance to the rest of the business. You'll work across the UK to identify new opportunities, develop client relationships, and secure specifications. This is a hands-on commercial role that requires technical understanding, strong communication skills and a passion for selling.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and convert new sales opportunities for lighting controls
Build strong relationships with consultants, contractors, developers and end users
Lead CPD sessions, present technical solutions and create commercial proposals
Work with the Specification and Major Projects teams to support project progression
Collaborate with internal teams including estimating, design, operations and marketing
Track your pipeline and opportunities using CRM and reporting tools
Represent ASD Lighting at meetings, events and industry exhibitions
Provide customer and market insight to help shape our product and sales strategies
Person Specification
Proven experience selling or specifying lighting control systems
Knowledge of DALI, wireless systems and BMS integration
Strong commercial focus and ability to manage a sales pipeline
Background in lighting, ideally from a manufacturer or specification environment
Confident communicator with good presentation and negotiation skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM platforms
Organised, self-motivated and willing to travel nationally as required
