Working hours are Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm.

The purpose of the role is to work as part of the laboratory in relevant sections and support LIMS with the installation, management, upgrades, and support of laboratory systems, including all middlewares and laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and any implementations of further LIMS.

• To troubleshoot Laboratory Information Management system (LIMS) and adhere to UKAS ISO 15189 standards including user acceptance testing and end to end testing.
• To implementation, configuration, maintenance, and upgrades of the electronic Laboratory systems such as LIMS.
• To coordinate updates with the wider IT team and vendors and be the first line of support during downtime.
• Support the setup of relevant application data including for example users, assays, client, mapping codes and pricing.
• Support in the set up and implementation of Development, Validation and Production environments.
• Provide on-site and remote support to laboratory team.
• Work with laboratory business owners to implement new applications and upgrades to existing systems.
• To contribute to the operations by assisting in training for all matters related to LIMS.
• Troubleshoot software errors, document problems and resolutions, and assess the impact of issues.
• Document technical specifications and reports for Laboratory applications, including updating LIMS related SOPs.
• Interact with vendors to ensure successful implementation of instrument software solutions.
• Coordinate, test and administer application users and security.
• Assist in complying with GMP standards, Standard Operation Procedures and provide support during regulatory audits.
• Liaise with IT regarding laboratory support requirements.
• To liaise with senior medical and scientific staff to effectively plan IT updates, allowing for minimal disruptions to the operations.

Qualifications

• Related Computer qualification or relevant experience supporting Laboratory Information Systems
• Good knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols.
• Experience with electronic laboratory systems e.g. LIMS.
• Experience with drafting, reviewing, and approving protocol scripts for software upgrades.
• Computer literate.
• Detail oriented with strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to analyse with proficiency in the application of problem solving and root cause analysis methodologies
• Good timekeeping and attendance record
• A quick learner who can \xe2\x80\x9chit the ground running\xe2\x80\x9d and pick up new skills and technologies at ease.
• Eager to explore and apply latest technologies available on the marke
