Civil Litigation Solicitor

to handle a varied caseload and deliver high-quality legal services to our clients.

Role Overview:

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a diverse caseload of civil and general litigation matters from instruction through to resolution, ensuring compliance and delivering excellent client care. This role provides the opportunity to work on a wide spectrum of disputes while developing your career in a supportive, forward-thinking environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Managing a caseload of civil litigation matters, including (but not limited to): Contractual disputes Debt recovery and enforcement proceedings Landlord & tenant disputes Property and boundary disputes Professional negligence claims Contentious probate and trust disputes Drafting and reviewing pleadings, witness statements, and applications. Representing clients in correspondence, negotiations, and alternative dispute resolution (ADR). Preparing cases for trial, instructing counsel, and attending hearings. Advising clients on legal merits, risks, costs, and potential outcomes. Ensuring compliance with court deadlines, CPR, and regulatory requirements. Maintaining accurate records, billing, and file management in line with SRA standards. Building strong client relationships and contributing to business development opportunities for the department.
Key Requirements:

Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales (1-3 years PQE preferred, though all levels considered). Demonstrable experience in handling civil litigation cases independently. Strong knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR). Excellent drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills. Ability to manage a varied workload, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines. Strong client care skills and a commercial awareness of litigation practice. Team player with a proactive and solution-focused approach.
