Based in the North of England in Darwen Lancashire, Light Control Rigging (LCR) are specialists in providing technical infrastructure to concert touring & live events. We provide lighting, control equipment, rigging and production to the entertainment industry. Due to continued growth, we are rapidly expanding our operational team.
We are currently seeking to hire a Live Events Prep Technician. As part of this role, you will be responsible for the
preparation
and
testing
of lighting, cable and rigging equipment to the highest standards.
Loading
and
unloading
of equipment from vehicles. Checking equipment in and out of the building using our
barcode stock control software
, as well as the movement of stock around our main site.
While this is an entry-level position, comprehensive training will be provided, allowing for substantial career progression within our growing company.
Duties
Maintenance and Prep
; the preparation, maintenance and repair of the lights, cables and rigging equipment to the highest standards.
Assist with
loading
and
unloading
trucks and vans, ensuring the safe transport of sensitive control equipment
Using
barcode stock control software
to manage the checking in and out of equipment
Visual inspections
: conduct visual inspections to look for signs off damage, frayed cables, broken pugs or other physical defects.
Provide feedback on equipment status, report damages or malfunctions, and book faulty items into the repairs department.
General warehouse duties, including cleaning, organising, and maintaining warehouse areas to ensure a safe and efficient environment.
Collaborating with other departments: to support pre-production setup.
Adhere to LCR's
Health and Safety policies
and contribute to maintaining a cleans and secure work environment.
Required Skills
Physical ability to handle
bending, lifting, and moving equipment
as part of daily duties.
The ability to work as part of a team and alone with
strong attention to detail
and commitment to ensuring equipment quality.
Strong communication skills.
Flexibility, a strong work ethic, and the ability to meet deadlines.
Forklift or Narrow Aisle Truck license is an advantage but not essential.
Working Conditions
Standard hours: 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday to Friday, with potential overtime during busy periods, including evenings and weekends.
Salary: 20,150 - 25,190 per year, based on experience.
