Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to patients in both home care and care home settings. Your primary responsibility will be to assist individuals with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being while promoting independence. This position requires effective communication skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality care.

Duties

Assist patients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming. Support individuals in maintaining their hygiene and overall health. Help with meal preparation and feeding when necessary. Implement care plans as directed by healthcare professionals, ensuring that each patient's needs are met. Monitor and record vital signs, reporting any changes to the nursing staff. Provide companionship and emotional support to patients, fostering a positive environment. Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the living space of patients. Drive patients to appointments or social activities as required, ensuring their safety during transport.

Skills

Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and healthcare teams. Experience in home care or care home environments is advantageous. Ability to understand and implement care plans accurately. Proficient IT skills for maintaining patient records and documentation. A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting patients when necessary. Empathy, patience, and a strong desire to help others are essential qualities for success in this role.
