FEMALE LIVE-IN CARER REQUIRED

CLIENT MUST LIKE WORKING AROUND DOGS

We have a wonderful package available for a wonderful lady in Somerset. The client has a dog who visits every day.

As the caregiver, you will play a vital role in supporting the client who is living with Alzheimer's. She loves gardening, enjoy baking cakes, chutney and jams and still enjoys sociable visits to the village.

The client can communicate her needs and wishes and the client wishes for the carer to driver her into the town for morning prayer, having tea with her group and enjoys going to choir.

Responsibilities

Assist client with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing. Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary requirements and preferences. Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment. Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in health status. Assist with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety and comfort at all times. Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients. Document care provided and report any concerns or changes in client condition to appropriate personnel. Drive clients to appointments or social activities as needed. Care for clients little dog, including taking dog for walks/exercises.

Skills

Experience in senior care or home care is highly desirable. Knowledge of dementia care practices is an advantage. Previous experience in hospice care is beneficial but not essential. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families. Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Basic cooking skills for meal preparation are required. A valid driving licence is preferred for transportation duties.

Education:

GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
