Job Overview

We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in culinary arts and a flair for food preparation, with the ability to lead and inspire a team. As the Sous Chef, you will assist the Head Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring that high standards of food quality, presentation, and safety are maintained.

Duties

Assist in the management of kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to ensure efficient food production. Prepare and cook high-quality dishes in accordance with the restaurant's menu and standards. Supervise food preparation processes to maintain consistency and quality across all dishes. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment. Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop new menu items and improve existing recipes. Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed. Foster a positive team atmosphere, encouraging collaboration and communication among kitchen staff. Assist in managing kitchen operations during busy service periods, ensuring timely delivery of meals.

Qualifications

Proven experience in a culinary role, preferably within a restaurant setting. Strong supervisory skills with experience in team management. Comprehensive knowledge of food production techniques and culinary practices. Excellent cooking skills with attention to detail in food presentation. Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations. Previous experience in hospitality is highly desirable. Strong leadership abilities to motivate and guide kitchen staff effectively. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. A passion for cooking and creativity in developing new dishes.
