Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Live-In Home Care Companion to provide essential support and care to an individual in their own home in Edinburgh. The ideal candidate should have live-in care experience and have worked with young adults with learning and physical disabilities. This role requires a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life the person that you are supporting while ensuring their safety and comfort. As the customer enjoys getting out and about, it is essential that you are a driver and hold a UK driving licence. You will be part of a team working with the customer and will work shifts as part of a rota and some additional hours may be required. The role is a live-in position.

Duties

Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, and grooming along with another member of the team. Assist with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients. Support customer with mobility and moving and handling as required. Assistance with medication. Engage customer in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being. Maintain a clean and safe environment within the home. Drive customer to appointments or social activities .

Skills

Experience in a live-in care setting is highly desirable. Ability to drive and possess a valid driving licence for transporting customer. Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with customer and their families. Able to work in a team. Knowledge of assisted living practices. Capability to perform moving and handling safely and effectively. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Empathy and patience in dealing with individuals with varying needs.

Pay: 126.00-151.00 per day
