Ibk is a community based, not-for-profit social enterprise with over 20 years' experience of providing Direct Payment Support to families, children and adults of all ages with a range of needs. We provide a bespoke matching service, finding the right PA for the right person.
IBK are currently supporting a family who are looking for PA support for their Autistic teenage son in the S12 area.
The centre of the role will be to keep the young man engaged with the activities that he enjoys as well as keeping him safe. As well as teaching and supporting him how to interact with others and helping him understand more about the world around him.
The family are looking for some one who will need to acknowledge and learn his love for structure and routine and be able to build a range of opportunities around these routines.
Being non-verbal and sometimes displaying some challenging behaviours he is in need of someone who is confident and who has the experience to support him.
Described as a 'bundle of mischief' by his family, he loves getting out and about whether this is going to the woods or the park. He also enjoys trampolining, swimming and his sensory toys.
Training of this role will involve understanding these routines to help the individual feel safe with you. This will either be done alongside the young persons Dad or one of his established PA's.
There will be some personal care as part of this role and you will need to be a car driver with use of a vehicle and business insurance in order to escort this young person on his outings.
