We have an exciting opportunity within our Engineering team for a driven and collaborative LLM Engineer to design and maintain the machine learning models and systems for our newest product, Klario.
If you were to join Basis Technologies in our LLM Engineer position, you can expect to:
Develop and scale robust LLM-powered applications using a variety of LLMs
Design, build and maintain algorithms for recommendation and prediction use cases
Build sophisticated Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and Agentic AI capabilities
Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to develop and support data pipelines
Monitor the performance of models, consistently working to ensure efficiency and efficacy
Implement and manage the deployment of models into production environments
Liaise with stakeholders to analyse business problems, clarify requirements and define the scope of the resolution needed
Apply business acumen to develop feasible data-based recommendations
Work with cross functional departments, including Product, Legal and Commercial teams, to progress solutions from development to production deployment
Monitor and optimise model performance, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and reliability in production environments
Stay current with advancements in AI/ML, particularly in large language models, and bring innovative ideas to the team

To help you establish whether this role is for you, these are the key foundational characteristics you will need to be set up for success:
Bachelors in Computer Science, Mathematics, or relevant topic
Previous experience working within a LLM Engineer, or similar, role
In depth understanding of data structures, data modelling and software architecture
Professional experience in Python and JavaScript
Familiarity with machine learning frameworks, for example PyTorch
Experience working in a start up or scale up environment - agile, fast-paced, collaborative
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Desirable Skills:
Knowledge of SAP CAP (Cloud Application Programming
)
development is highly desirable but not essential
