Job Description


DAC Beachcroft is seeking a Senior Associate (4-10 PQE) with experience of information technology disputes to join our highly reputed Commercial Dispute Resolution team in Manchester comprising 9 lawyers.

We are looking for a technically strong and ambitious disputes lawyer to work in a dynamic and growing team, with exposure to the very best work. Our team has an impressive range of international and national technology clients for whom we act in both non-insured and insured disputes.

In addition to handling information technology disputes, the team also handles a broad portfolio of work, including heavyweight disputes for leading clients including in High Court litigation, arbitration and other proceedings arising from high value and complex contractual and soft IP disputes.

Role Responsibility

  • Progress and manage High Court litigation, arbitration and related proceedings, primarily in an information technology context.
  • Drafting documents, dealing with correspondence and managing the relevant procedural process; supporting in larger matters as well as managing own caseload.
  • Use a strong understanding of the factual and commercial context to drive tactical thinking and decision-making from the outset of disputes.
  • Helping to develop the team\'s technology disputes offering.
  • Helping to develop a reputation for leading client service, taking responsibility and being encouraged to strengthen existing relationships and develop new ones.
  • Build an awareness of the firm\'s other services and effective internal and external networks.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Experience in complex and high value information technology disputes, ideally also in an insurance (Tech E&O) context
  • Ambition to develop technical and tactical skills as part of a strong and growing team
  • Ambition to assist with marketing the team\'s information technology disputes expertise to existing and new clients
  • Strong technical skills and experience
  • Very good client handling skills
  • Willingness work with disputes lawyers in different locations and to travel as required
