About us
RAFAKidz is the proud winner of Nursery Group of the Year 2025. We provide high quality, affordable early years childcare and wraparound services to the children of serving RAF personnel and the wider defence community. RAFAKidz is a not-for-profit organisation, reinvesting surplus income to support the RAF community. Our newest setting in central London is one of 21 settings in the RAFAKidz family and opened in April. Based within an exclusive VIP establishment in the heart of Westminster, a few minutes walk from Westminster and Embankment tube stations, our colleagues can benefit from an onsite cafe and gym. We offer a 'Cycle to Work' scheme for those wishing to travel by bike on one of the many designated cycle routes.

Circa 19 staff look after 38 children and we are proud to announce that we remain fully staffed regardless of the number of children having fun and learning with us every day.
About the role
You can expect to be fully 'hands on' to create a stimulating and exciting nursery setting, using many of the tools and resources RAFAKidz have already developed, to strengthen and grow the quality of our care and our team. You will be fully supported by our wider management team including an Operations Manager, Operations Director and our amazing HR team.?
The role will be to manage the day-to-day operations of the site, working closely with your team. Key objectives include;
To provide professional leadership and management of the nursery.
To effectively manage the day-to day running of the nursery.
To ensure the delivery of the highest standards of care and education.
To ensure compliance with all policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
To ensure the financial sustainability of the nursery.
To be the Designated Safeguarding Lead for the nursery.
About you
You will bring with you a strong knowledge of Early Years, together with the appropriate qualifications, along with a nurturing personality and a desire to achieve the very best outcomes for our children.?Previous Nursery Manager experience is essential for this role along with:
Experience leading and motivating a team with excellent proactive team engagement and involvement
Previous experience managing income and expenditure budget
Excellent working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and current Ofsted statutory guidance.
Ability to co-ordinate in a specific specialist area e.g. SENCO.
